YEP.........I do not like many types of Ducks......

Here is my reason why..........I tried to catch Mallard Ducklings when I was 10 Years old... My Dog got the babies to shore off the pond and I was going to get one... The Mother Duck started to chase me and she gave me a total licking !......I was knocked down and bitten all over my neck and beaten with her wings.....My dog finally chased her off of me ... I never told my Mom that story till I was 20 years old..

Lol!!!!!

I love Ducks.......

You lil dickens you deserved a licking trying to take that mamas babies. lol

My Muscovy mamas are very devoted to their ducklings and will attack too if they feel their babies are threatened.  Any one but me.

My Mom totally remember me bringing the dog home all mud and myself.....She was so mad Toby was dirty I did not tell her i was just attacked also!
We had Geese that I was terrified of as a little girl......buggers chased me all the time.... I'm only 5 feet as an adult...as a child I was really small.....lol.......totally into animals though....Still am, hence the Funny Farm.....lol

My first encounter with geese was when my brother and I walked my 2 very young children down to a marina not far from where I lived in Fla. We took bread to feed the geese and ducks [didn't know you shouldn't do that] Well we finished giving out all the bread but they wanted more surrounded us to where we had to stand up on a park bench to get away from them, well My brother had life savers and says you take the kids and run I'll distract them with these life savers. We finally got away but I never would have thought after that experience I'd want geese. But many years later I did and do. I always felt bad though that those poor ducks and geese probably ate life savers. Yes geese will chase us if we run one thing you learn real fast when you have geese is you never act like your afraid of them. They have to learn to respect us as their leader. I am only 5'2" and my gander is a big boy.

Poor thing got attacked by a mad mama duck and your mama was mad because the dog Toby was dirty and couldn't tell why.

I still laugh at that experience......Who knew a Duck was that strong or was that protective over her Ducklings?

Oh well, I still love Ducks.........

Thanks for your story Miss Lydia........the thing is they are all great if we treat them right!
