Hatching duck eggs

My mama duck who was laying on her nest (which should hatch anyday) has died and our local feed store is out of incubators. So I got a heat lamp and set up her eggs in a box underneath. I turn them slightly ever few hours and have a small jar of water on it. Anything else I should be doing? Advice?

That's terribly tragic, I'm sorry!

I don't think that's gonna be warm enough. Do you have a cooler you could put them in, even an old styrofoam one would help insulate the heat in.

You could maybe lower the heat lamp, it might also help, maybe.

How long has she been sitting on the eggs?

They need to stay at around 99-100F degrees.

X2 on getting a thermometer up on top of the eggs asap.
Over heating them will be bad.

You can get rid of all the greenery. It's not needed.
