This is a forum where you can tell everyone your first time hatching DUCK eggs of any breed! Whether your first time hatching duck eggs was YEARS ago or even an hour ago! Tell us your experience whether good or bad (and maybe tell beginner duck "breeders" some advice)!

I’ll jump in! My first hatch was in May of 2018. I ordered some barnyard mix eggs off of eBay to be sent to us! I spent hourrrrs researching! I ended up deciding to spray my eggs with listerine and water to sterilize them. We ordered 12 eggs and received 14. I believe I only had 2 infertile egg. Hatch day came around and I ended up with 11 ducklings! YAY! Unfortunately, one had pipped and died in the shell for some reason. I believe we had some cayuga, buff, and pekins. We unfortunately don’t have those duck anymore due to predators but we have upped our security significantly and now have some 4 and 5 week old ducklings! You can check out my thread here for pictures of them from today! (there’s 9 of them!) But here’s some duckling photos of the 4 and 5 week old ducklings!
