Hatching egg still looks the same after 7 hours!

I first noticed pipping 8 hours ago..... the she’ll piece fell off but other than that it stayed the same!? I can here the chick hard at work but it doesn’t seen to be doing anything

So, chicks will often pip through the shell and then take a break. 8 hours isn't unusual. The hatching process is driven by O2 content inside the shell, when the shell is punctured, this changes the dynamics. I would keep an eye on it though.
