My son brought me an egg that our broody hen was no longer sitting on. I told him it was bad and to throw it away. He brought it back and said it was peeping. I took it and listened heard nothing and it was cool to touch. I decided to take a chance and gently cracking it and there is a live chick in it. I do not have a incubator and I didn’t know what to do. I put it in a brooder box with another small chick that recently hatched. What can I do?

Unfortunately if you cracked it there’s nothing you can really do. How much days is it, is the yolk absorbed can you post a picture?
It’s fully developed it looks like. It’s still rolled up in the egg but one end is off the shell.

Sorry just saw that, he does look like he’s bleeding. Do you know what day he’s on? I know it’s a lot of questions..

i would say at least 19. It’s a hen that nested in the barn instead of the coop. I can’t be completely sure when the egg was laid.

Well, he still has a chance. Keep him as warm as possible. Also, I would recommend dabbing some water so that he doesn’t get shrink-wrapped. Keep us updated!! ❤️❤️
