Do you all think a run that is 4 feet wide and 10 feet long with a house and roost is adequate for most chicken breeds if you only have a trio (I'm not talking about the "very large" types)???

More than enough. I have 13 foot long runs with a 4 x 4 raised coop.... depending on the breeds I have anywhere from 5-9 birds in those pens for breeding.

Thanks for the insight! I really would like to keep them. They are not common around out area at all. As a matter of fact the only place I have seen them was at a show and they had traveled to get here. They would always have access to an indoor area that stays at least 38 degrees even in the coldest of weather. Now I really hope the rest hatch!! How old will they be before I can tell the sex of the chick?
Sorry. I can't remember. As soon as they start going through their second molt I think. If any red at all appears in their feathering it is a rooster.

Everyone please say a prayer for my mom, she had a mild heart attack sunday morn. I"ve got her in the hospital and she seems to be doing a lot better tonight. I know things have to get better soon

Positive vibes. Terrible month. It will totally get better soon.

I have an 90 year old barn that we are taking down.  I could use the weathered barn siding and framing from it to make a bunch of these as the barn is two story and 30' x 40'.  All I would have to buy is the treated wood for the bottom.

Barn wood sometimes sell for boocoo bucks. Check around first.
