I think my chicks are traveling by bike messenger. I don't know why else it would take so long!!! I mean they are coming from a neighboring state!!!

I'm so sorry, I hope they survive the trip! And you survive the stress.

OK, now you guys have whetted my appetite to try meat birds again. Will have to watch the swap. The Cornish/Rock meaties I raised up...loved them personality-wise and free ranged them, but processing them so young, so many pin feathers, hrmm. Didn't really want to raise them again. The Bresse - I could get into a self sustaining meatie flock. Hoping my Muscovy incubation is successful for the same reason. Will definitely have to hit you up on processing/cooking tips when I eventually have some grown out!

As for the Exchequer leghorns, someone was wanting to fill out a box from, so I had them order 7 chicks for me. [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Delightful looking birds. Can't wait![/FONT]

Well, I just got some Bresse eggs today that I won off of ebay.

that they hatch!!!! You know I will share later on!

Also I have to share my excitement!

I am hatching a small hatch today: I had 7 of madamwlfs CCL, 1 of my MF cochin/tolbunt Polish mix, 2 lav orps, 2 bbs orps.

So far 4 of madamwlfs have hatched, 1 is pipped, both lavs have hatched, 1 bbs orp hatched 1 pipped. the CCLs: 3 girls and a white one!!!!!!! It is still wet so do not know if it is a girl or boy, but am so excited!!!

After my last few hatches, this was so awesome!

And I came home to a bazillion eggs.....24 duck eggs from Celtic

, those bresse eggs, and tons of eggs from stephanie. And a mealworm kit starter from the WYGS. I am gonna try it. ewww. But I am gonna try.
