Ugh. Nothing can make you feel sick worse than crushing a chick. They all come storming when I bring them something. This time it was the waterer. I didn't even know until I moved it because it was too close to the wall and saw it gasping. :( It seems to be okay now though, running around like the rest.

ok, I have 13 BBS orp eggs that can go out to someone tomorrow. I can do a swap, or is someone wants to pay shipping, they can have them. I only have a few BBS orp swap claimed I think, and I believe they all wanted Spring shipping.

If anyone is interested, please PM me. I need to know soon enough to have them packed up and at the PO by noon tomorrow.

Actually, it's probably a good thing I'm broke and out of incubator space -- circumstances forcing me not to be so chicken-greedy!!!

I swear, this is awful -- I've got a yard full of chickens, a brooder full of babies, a bathroom full of eggs to go in the incubator tomorrow -- and I still want more! I'm not even this bad with chocolate!!!

(Speaking of chocolate,

been on the run all day. (or so it seems)

Started drawing up plans for the new breeder house for the LF chickens. I think we have a game plan finally.

We have chocolate bantam orps hatching right now. Sooooooooooooooooo cute!

will share pictures this weekend. I think I would like a fun trio or quad of cochins to house next to the bantam choc orps. So who has em, and whats a cool/fun color.

Our Guinea fowl flock are ALL being butchered this weekend. They went on a rampage and killed 2 ducklings, a gosling

and tried to get a rooster too. Naughty, nasty birds! I call them the farm mafia, and after today they are all doomed to OFF WITH THEIR HEADS.

One of my random yard-chickens:

I'm sorry -- a chicken with polka-dots? You KNOW I had to get at least one! She's fun to watch, but not very friendly. As opposed to my lone ancona, who decided she had to sit on my head earlier this afternoon :)

My yard flock consists of my original four rock hens and CM roo, one CM cross hen I'm growing out as an experiment, and an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink sampler pack from Meyer Hatchery ('cause, ya know, how would I know which breeds I liked unless I got them all?) They're a fun bunch to watch scurry around -- very colorful! And then sometimes they simply come knocking at the door...

I don't take pictures for weeks and weeks and then I go photo-crazy...
