I see that GFF wyandotte choc and Orp choc are Bantam. Can someone tell me where the LF Choc orps came from??

Some have breed the bantams to LF and over time have produced the LF version of chocolates.

Just went out to the coop and what did I find (lying on the ground rather than in the nesting box, but hey)? My first pullet egg!

My cuckoo marans/white rock cross has laid her first egg! It's little but not teeny, about as dark as her mom's but it has speckling on it She's five months and one week old today. Her brothers were all big enough to slaughter at 12 weeks, and pretty meaty. I want to give her some time to settle into a routine and see how she lays and how large her eggs look to be before I decide for sure, but I think I may just have to hatch myself out some more utility layers!

Woot! Congrats! That's great if they're meaty by 12 weeks. Do they eat an awful amount?

I've never dealt with Jon Burton so I couldn't say either way. I had no problems with GFF eggs and Marie's eggs (ebay)

LF choc come from UK as well. Orpingtons galore I think. At least I think thats where Nellie got hers. There is a project of LF american that are from Korfus Cluckers LF and some bantams, that they have worked on for awhile to get to LF.

Some of my assorted bantam Cochin order have beards. I think maybe I got some d'uccle chicks.

I think we got some white sultans in our cochin order. Unless they jumped ship into the next compartment. they were divided pretty equally tho.
I was hoping to get some Duccle in my asst, but I don't think so.
