They are here!! They are here!!!!

The Legbars are adorable!!! And the companions are drop dead gorgeous!! I had to kick the Bresse out of the quarantine pen to put the newcomers in. There was no way they were staying in the house. And there is no way I can keep this secret until March!!!!

They'll be laying eggs way before then!! A few weeks maybe, after they settle in!
Yay!!! Glad all of them made it safely! I was worried about them with all that bad weather! I don't see how you can keep secrets!!!! I can't!

My birds from CelticOaks arrived this morning. One dead duckling and one dead chick, but there are 13 alive chicks (Herducks), 3 Khaki Campbells (Herducks), 2 unknown ducklings (Herducks-the third died), 4 Silver Appleyard ducklings (MINE!), and ONE HUGE Sebbie gosling (MINE!

Congratulations on the new arrivals!

Geese need other geese just as duck need other ducks. Geese dont forage where ducks do, and a goose raised alone with ducks only wont know how to be a goose and graze. BM6 has other geese, and has a second gosling coming to her this spring as well.

90% of a gooses diet should be from grazing on pasture/grass

I did not call, but did send a PM. He had not been online for several hours so hoping he will find the message soon.... He has some BEAUTIFUL birds.....
He takes wonderful care of them also. He is one of the few people that has managed to get the entirely naked chickens to live.

Taz, I just took one of those under cabinet kitchen lights, then hung it above my tanks. They were higher than the hood lights would've been.

Sorry I am not very domestic so it was very exciting. Of course I did misjudge the cooking time so it was done three hours early but that was only a minor setback :/
