Same boat a Madamwlf, so sorry Madam. The box was forwarded on instead of refused but it should have been refused!

4 of the PBs survived the trip, one is barely clinging. 6 PBs doa. They were all put into an incubator for a quick warm up.

for the 4th. If Madam had a problem with them as well I'm thinking it was an issue at a dock in Fla, Calling Jenny now.

) I put a bid in for some Blue Breda eggs. We'll see what happens.

I saw two pullets from GFF new CCL line just got listed if anyone is interested.

Me too. Decided to give in to temptation, lol.

What happens when someone from here is bidding on the same birds that I want to? Should I not bid?

srpaint has the high bid for a couple of the auctions I want to bid on

What do you guys do?

Lots of things cause boxes to be returned. Here in FL the top one is dry ice shipping out (we seem to have a ton of it shipping out of Orlando). The box could have been damaged also, or gotten wet and needed to be replaced.

If you click on my swap page in my signature it takes you to our Member Page (thats what BYC calls them) and you can click create a new page there.

USPS wouldnt return a box based on predicted or possible weather 9see above for two reasons it could have been returned). Hope you hear back today on whats going on.

ALSO................ just thought of this.............They could have hit the wrong update as they scanned the tag, those hand hald scanners dont leave much room for error

what hub did the box go through? Orlando, or another spot in FL?

we are nice and warm here in FL again (at least here on the island we are) currently 76 lows only hitting 59-62. Its likely due to poor packing and not packing for enough warmth in the box.

when the 25 chick (brown open hole) boxes are used, heat packs and or packing peanuts HAVE to be used. Those boxes allow for drafts to easily move through them. 11 chicks in a 25 chick box isnt packed well enough IMO.

when we here in FL have to ship to cold(er) states we have to risk over heating the chicks if we add a heat pack, and killing them. The better option is to pack the box with packing peanuts for the added warmth.

if the boxes are going through St Augustine (I think I saw that on a previous post about the tracking) that air port is not set up for live animal cargo. Been there twice myself, its a single hanger tiny little building. You park next to the runway and walk into the lobby which is tiny in itself. I would ask why the boxes arent hubbing through Gainesville or better yet Tallahassee (which is where I expected them to travel through since GFF is right there). Its just over 3 hours drive from GFF to St Augustine, so if they are going from GFF to ST. A then out they are on an unheated truck for over 3 hours (if no other stops made).

oh and dont mind my ramblings, I tend to think out loud (or in this case via writing all the ideas in my head down) to see if there is a logical answer/reason for something
