Need ideas, went to lockdown the incubator of quail and they are hatching....the problem is I am in PA right in the path of this storm and electric company is saying power could be out for 7 days.....how will I keep baby quail warm.....
I thought about running and getting a bunch of those hand warming packs, would this work ???

If your choice is try hand warmers or nothing, I would think that that would work better than nothing. If you burn wood, the brick idea would be good too. Just make sure the brick isn't too hot. I would also put a towel mostly over whatever container you put them in to help trap the heat in. Just make sure there is enough room for them to breathe, but enough is covered to conserve heat. Good luck and let us know how things go! Hope the little ones are okay!

Thank you for the help! I am very happy to hear your chick was OK.

I am very happy to be in Michigan for this hurricane. I still own my house in Kill Devil Hills though so i am keeping my fingers crossed i have no damage. I hope everyone in the path of the storm stays safe. I know how scary and stressful it can be.

No woodstove but the neighbor does, they are about to think I am nuts when I go over there and ask them to heat rocks.
My entire house runs off of electric, gonna be a long week..
