My new additions arrived at 5am. They are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! As an added bonus, the girls laid 2 perfect eggs on the way.... I am truly BLESSED. Sorry Clarence, my husband got the order for chocolates correct

He loves Chocolate almost as much as you.... Gotta get to work!! Just wanted to share......

Yeah, so glad they made it okay!! Who could not love those faces????

Really pretty Chocolates! I love Chocolate, it makes me so nice. Maybe the Chocolate birds would have the same effect?

Well I am off for a while. I spent income tax money and got goodies coming from FL in a day or two.

So I need to make some more brooders. If I wasn't such a "chicken" myself I'd just turn the old tack room in the barn into a brooder room.

Arghhh! I just had a customer, who is buying BCM chicks from me, mention she had emu, and an egg in her Bator... It was ALL I could do to NOT ask her for a trade!!! My husband would literally kill me if I had emu chicks!

I use to have 2 emus and 5 ostriches. My ostriches would allow me to pet them and were fairly calm. Strangely enough, the male emu was nice and the female was a mess!!! You never wanted to mess with her...

I have to thank Candace, she is my partner in the part. Barth's. it has been my pleasure to raise that rooster. He is stunning and not aggressive at all, I love him!! The hen's not to shabby herself.

He is a beauty! I got to see him live and he's all that AND a bag of Doritos!

Morning all! I'm going to town today, and realized that todays the day the feed store gets their first shipment of chicks. I think I need.....I need pine shavings. That's it!....and I have to drive all the way across town to that store to get them....

Good morning everybody!!! I made my first 2 am chick run last night! The post office called me a little after 1 because I had a box of chicks that came in. So there I was in my pjs and mud boots, driving to the PO and wondering what the cop would think if he pulled me over.... "Honestly, officer, I was just picking up chicks!"

I want to share some pictures of my cochin from acechix. I think it's a rooster, Cochins are really hard to tell for me until they start crowing, but this guy is starting to get red wattles already. Only a month or so old. Anyway s/he is beautiful. Kind of interesting. Had a LOT of yellow down, so I really thought splash, but the more he feathers out, the bluer he's becoming. him. He's at that Gawky/Vulturehead stage

I got two Emu eggs just for paying shipping ($15) 2 years ago. Put them in my Octo20 and 52 days later they both hatched within a half-hour of each other. I had no clue if they were even developing and was sitting at the table eating dinner when I glanced over and saw the end was busted off of the first egg and there were HUGE brown eyes looking back at me! They were adorable! I kept them for two months and then sold them both for $90.
