I got two Emu eggs just for paying shipping ($15) 2 years ago. Put them in my Octo20 and 52 days later they both hatched within a half-hour of each other. I had no clue if they were even developing and was sitting at the table eating dinner when I glanced over and saw the end was busted off of the first egg and there were HUGE brown eyes looking back at me! They were adorable! I kept them for two months and then sold them both for $90.

Nemo and Dory, right before I sold them.

I know who Jeannie and Clarence are, but who is Jordan?
You don't think that would work?

SO, how many "bags of shavings" did you come home with?

OMG. Uh oh. No, clucky!!! No, you cannot get emus!!! Oh man they're cute, Heather!!!

and LOL on the bags of shavings!

Time to go do some research haha. Maybe if I can trade my BCM chicks for a couple eggs my husband wouldn't mind. Problem is we only have a 4 foot fence along half our property, so we would half to install their own fence, which I assume would have to be 6 foot?
I don't know, my husband surprises me sometimes... Like, he hates my chickens, but thinks having bison on our front lawn would be fun :/

My hubbie actually has a greener thumb then I do, but the plant looks neat!
It is, I love it and its really an easy plant to keeep. Tell him to go to Daves Garden.com and look up Cats Whiskers or Orthosiphon Aristatus. I have noticed that it does enjoy a bit of shade, contrary to what the info states, though.

I am just so loaded down with plants that some of the more tropical plants that I used to love in Florida are getting neglected.

I sent an extra plant called callisia ripens. Its in the wandering Jew family, it makes a great "groundcover" for taller potted plants, that way you're not just looking at dirt around the base of the plant; it adds interest to the soil surface of a tall potted plant like corn plant or frangiapanni. My husband loves it around the bottom of his desert rose and pony tail palms.

BM6 and I are trying to fill as many orders as we can before Spring officially get's here. We will be throwing out offers of eggs/chicks as we have them, so keep your swap lists handy.

We will have an order of mystery chicks and an order of silkies that can ship on the 25th or 26th. Let us know if you would like any of these.

I am ready for my mystery chicks anytime you want to send them!

Anyone bought chicks from privitt hatchery? That's where our feed store chicks come from... I stopped by tractor supply and they have their first chicks. There was one super fluffy black cochin in the bantam assortment (and three vicious buff silkies, man, those things where so mean! They where dragging the other smaller chicks all over the place!). I really want good quality Cochins, but hard to resist a pretty little fluffball for $3.

hubby just left to pick up our incoming boxes of lives.

I am about to put together our boxes to pack up the outgoing geese, ducklings and chicks.

email confirmation we have two more boxes of lives being shipped to us today!

Then Monday we have 2 boxes shipping OUT lol

Just found out Monday is a Holiday, no PO.....

Ok I found a tiny white mystery egg in my coop this morning.

Did it come come from my buttercup girl whom is 8 months old and just starting laying. So far her other eggs have been double the size of this one.

Or did it come from one of my bantam silkie crosses that are only about 14 weeks old?

Which do you think is more likely?
