Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

Oh the shipping debacle returns.

So I spent all morning trying to locate the box of eggs. Found them, but since I'm not the recipient I cannot have them forwarded even if I had an address to send them too. So I emailed off the info.

About a half an hour later the guy calls me and tells me that since I mad the error and that he did nothing wrong he wants me to have the eggs redirected or to resend eggs. I told him I would resend the eggs, but he would need to pay the shipping. He refused. Says PayPal is on his side. I responded that he would have do what he felt was best and so he hung up on me.

Then I got the following email

Ann,

As a Retailer myself, I understand how PayPal works and the shipping and billing address issue, that is why I asked and you and you agreed to mail these eggs to another address, if you would not have agreed to the different shipping address I would not have agreed to buy. I then sent you the mailing address; unfortunately you lost it and then chose to mail these eggs to the wrong address.
If by chance you are able to redirect the shipment to the agreed shipping address all will be good.

If I receive the shipment at my home which is not the correct address I will refuse it and ask for a complete refund.

As I told you when I agreed to ship I needed the address with the PayPal.

You chose to send it without the PayPal payment.

When the eggs were once again ready for you, this is not the first time I have gotten eggs ready for you and had a lack of communication, I sent you a request for PayPal and shipping address. Once I received the payment I looked for the shipping address. The only one included with the payment was the one I sent the eggs to. Since the first time around when your wife was supposed to pick up the eggs on feb. 4th 2013 and I did not hear from you until the seventh of February I could only assume the address you included in your PayPal was the correct one. I spent a considerable amount of time on the phone trying to track down the package, and sent you an email with the only information I was given by the postal service. I gave you their phone number so you could contact them as the recipient and have the eggs forwarded on. Once they were sent they are no longer in my possession and out of my control. I'm sorry you did not read the whole email I sent or follow through with shipping directions available to you through PayPal. I have offered you another shipment of eggs if you pay the shipping fee. You have declined. You have also it appears refused to contact the postal service to redirect the eggs to your aunt. I feel I am unable to assist you any further.


For future reference anytime you order something you should always include any special information with your payment.

I'm just sick about this. I know that the shipping money isn't a lot but it is a bag of feed and we are not wealthy.



My further suggestion is to stop letting it bother you :). You worked hard to make it right and they are being evil about it...can't win them all.

Make sure you keep all transactions with him for reference for Paypal. You have covered your end. He should have followed through on his end.
 
Thanks snap zap. My hubby is mad because I sent him way more eggs than the twelve ordered. I usually try to include whatever I can fit. He keeps calling and calling though I have stopped answering. It just seemed so strange that he didn't bother to include his aunts address with the PayPal yet tells me he did nothing wrong. He feels as though I took it upon myself to ship the eggs to a wrong destination.

The funny thing is I had a similar experience last year. I was the recipient. I had requested proper shipping with all communication, but a mistake was made. I drove the 25 miles to go pick up the eggs from my old address. I reacted a whole lot different, was extremely happy to get my eggs and got to see some old friends and neighbors at the same time.

I just want to please everyone I guess and you know how that goes.

I'm thinking I should just go soak in the tub. Though I'm supposed to be watching for certain eggs.

Who has cream leg bars, lilac orphingtons, and crud I can't remember the other. Oh we'll those would would help. Good thing I can please my chicken loving son.

What a jerk he is. If I were you I would call PayPal and explain to them what is going on. They will usually make a note of your calling and what was said. In case he files a claim against you there will already be information for Paypal to look at. Don't let this idiot ruin your day. You know you've done what was right. Don't second guess yourself.

Here is the deal with shipping. To be covered by PayPal you MUST send to the address on file that comes through with the payment. otherwise you are screwed as the seller. Now I will allow buyers to send a different send to addy IN the memo area of the paypal payment to be shipped to. This way if there is an issue, I have proof the buyer requested a different address ON their payment. otherwise its the buyers fault for not following through and providing all information.

Thanks, I was unaware that PayPal had a number to call. As it is I can forward on the emails that came to my ipad. i don't think anything he says over the phone is,reliable, but the emails should be. He did send his aunts address, but as I explained to him when I let him know, in an email of course, that I had no access to that email as our main computer was down. The email address was requested to go with the PayPal, yet he sent it a week earlier to a different email address that was linked to my desk top. In the request for payment I clearly asked for his aunts address. He apparently did not read the whole email.

Ok on this egg buyer PayPal nightmare....... you owe him nothing. He is trying to scare you into send MORE free eggs and giving him his money back. PayPal is on your side since you shipped to the verified address on his account. However PayPal doesn't cover hatching eggs anyways so he is out on both accounts truthfully. Keep all of his emails, and yours you sent asking for payment and for him to send his preferred shipping address to you again. Even if he does file a dispute, having ALL of the emails will back your side and PayPal will close it. If you need any help saving the emails let me know. Its best to save them as PDF files if you can
