HAPPY BIRTHDAY, anyway! What a day for me to turn 27... A meteorite hits Russia and we're going to have another nearby meteor tonight! Chicken Little was right! The sky is falling.
Since these aren't from my parent stock, I have no idea what kind of genetics they carry as far as good or bad. It could take years to figure that out and I'm not sure it's worth it.Happy Birthday TD!!
Madam....... not good if its from eggs then since you cant trace the parent stock. We roll the gentic dice with geese each year to see if they will click to make great looking goslings. Sometimes you get a good fit, sometimes you go, well wont be pairing them up again.

I was talking to someone on the Rhodebar thread (Nicolandia, I think?) and they said that Rhodebars in the U.S. need a LOT of work because they have been inbred, then bred to the wrong types of birds for diversity, then inbred again. That's why there is such diversity in their color, egg color, etc. I hope the ones I get this spring don't have any problems. By the way, does anyone have heritage RIR on here? Nicolandia told me that they are the best for increasing diversity with Rhodebars.
Quote: Totally agree, genetics sucks since its always the unknown, and no when it comes to chickens, with so many breeds available to battle a leg issue is not worth the time investment.
