Event: Easter Reverse Swap
When: March 30, 2013
Time: 5pm to 11pm
Participants: Members in good standing with the Swap Thread.
Rules: All members of the Swap thread are allowed to participate. In order to offer Spring or later eggs, you must be on the completely unrestricted list. Walli can post a list of all participants that are unrestricted. If you wish to be a main offerer please PM me and put Easter Swap in the subject line. Sign ups will end on March 23, 2013. This will not be a free for all. Names of individuals who signed up to offer will be drawn at random. If you are not on when your name is drawn then you will be skipped. If we have time at the end we will pick someone at random to put an offer up. Any good standing participant of the swap can try to claim an offer. There will be a 5 minute time limit for participants to put their offers up. Once the time is up we will move on to the next offer while the offerer is considering offers. You do not have to take any offers if there is nothing that appeals to you.

How It Works: Not many of you know how a Reverse Swap works so hopefully this will help:

CPL offers 12+ Jubilee Orpington Chicks

The object is for other participants to offer something to CPL as a trade for those beautiful chicks.

COF offers 6 goslings

crfarm offers 24+ Marans chicks

madamwlf offers 12+ Black Barthuhner chicks

Now CPL can decline all offers but instead she accepts madamwlf's offer Barthuhner chicks. If you have any questions please ask. This is a immensely fun swap and it can get crazy!!!

So then would it be your turn to put something up and others bid again? Or is someone drawn from the list then?

Turkey babies are definitely eating!

Oh no. I knew it. I'm doomed.

Same thing happened to us. We got attached to our two toms and our hen. They became pets and the toms were never mean to us even as kids, but they loved to strut around the barnyard showing their feathers off.

Laughing cause I just sent Blackbrook eggs. Turkey eggs. She's gonna be another turkey addict.

Oh and there is no cure. Withdrawal doesnt work. I tried.

Oh my gosh, you guys are so hard to keep up with between potato leek soup prep and oatmeal cake.. it's cooking/baking day and there were so many posts I wanted to comment on.. my heart goes out to those who've lost children. It is so hard on a family and the pain is unbearable sometimes. I haven't lost any personally, but our family has so I understand...

I can relate to a lot of the sense of loss expressed here today. I had ovarian cancer about 7 years ago and a full hysterectomy. I didn't think that it would bother me at the time because I didn't think I wanted kids, but it gets to me sometimes. It has been really hard the last two years. I always said I didn't want kids because I raise other people's kids for a living! But it's hard to help others parent and go home alone. Kids are a lot like turkey's, you can't help but love them to death even when they drive you nuts! In reality nothing like turkey's, but I sure think loving the chickens and turkey's help us cope with both the loss of what was and the loss of what could have been.
