Hey, is there an Ohio chicken owner's thread here on BYC? I'd love to know when there's shows and swaps and stuff going on. Eventually I'll have a car again -- even sooner if I stop spending all my money on eggs

Emvickrey's offer is up. This is a self blue chick still in the hatcher that I got from her porcelain silkie eggs. If you hatch any of her silkies out, you will be very happy with them!

ok so here are better pics of the EE i got yesterday..,.










their is also another hen looks just like her they could be twins,,she is having her nails clipped and being sprayed with poultry protecter thats why she isnt in the pic.... their all 3 this blue color...rooster does have some white..

So, we just got back from a poultry show/swap in Frederick. Some nice birds, some not so nice birds. I'm thinking about getting a trio of Seramas. Those little birds are adorable. I was wondering what you Serama breeders can tell me about them. Since they are small birds, what kind of housing for cold weather and for warm weather? What special care do they need? Any info would be great!

I have Serama, so does CPL & Reese. I am sure others do also. I love these little birds. They are very easy to care for. Same s any chicken.

I thought their housing was usually different since they are so small. What do you house yours in during cold and warm weather? I have a brooder in my basement I can use during the cold months.
