OK. Good to know, someone was saying that their smooths carry the frizzle gene and I was unsure.

Oh, now that I'm unsure about. Can it be carried as a recessive without displaying? Anyone?

The way I should have put it was two smooth parents=smooth, one smooth, one frizzle= 50% smooth, 50% frizzle, two frizzle parents = mess I don't actually know how the genetics work, only that that's what results with breeding them.

Sah, how do you do that and when are they going to be on the swap thread??? Is that a LF or bantam? I like the LFs!

She is a bantam. I actually had three black frizzles and a smooth blue rooster, but she is the only one left. Coons are all the rest. I am trying to get more, but I haven't been able to track down the breeder.
I can not take credit for her. I bought her as a young pullet in the fall, she has turned out beautifully and should be laying any time now. Unfortunately, the only bantam cochin rooster I have now is my poor type birchen

I am working on getting some BBS large fowl too. Cochins are the best.

I didn't think I really wanted any because they're not very productive layers, and the only ones I'd seen were hatchery birds. Then I saw my first real cochins, and that was it. I was in love! They are so stunningly laid-back, it's wonderful

I just went out to check on the turkeys and found an egg on the floor. The midgets all lay in the upper cabinets and this was on the floor right where Eva likes to lay in the sun in the late afternoon. It sure looks like one of her eggs, and last week she had one of the toms attempt to mate her big fat butt. Of course we are going to set it. Can't sell it and an Eva baby would be so cool.

I went over to her and said " you go girl!" She made her cute little noises. She's such a sweet girl.
