Had a chick die last night in a grow out pen (buff leghorn pullet

so that was a yucky and lousy day to start the day. I only have one buff leghorn pullet left that I am certain of, but I am thinking there may be one more with a bigger comb. The cockerels are all starting have the combs turn red, and this one is not turning red and its slightly smaller so, maybe I will get a trio out of these guys. I has hopin for a quad minimum, but I will take

I have a bird in the mail now that was supposed to be here at 6:30 this morning and I think it is lost. Sooooo many of my packages to me is getting lost. The tracking shows that it never left WI yet. He has already been in the mail for 2 days.

My husband took Hayden into school today, and bought me some new headlights for
My car as a birthday present lol. He missed the memo I gave him on Monday that I only wanted chicken stuff. Actually, new headlights are great cuz I have night blindness and dont like drivin at night. As I said, I'm old at heart haha

anyway ALL arrived in great shape. First candling was a shock 14 eggs seemed to be going great. Then I tossed one later. 13 eggs made it to lockdown. 1 was iffy but what did I have to lose. Yesterday 2 babies had hatched a day early and 5 more eggs had pipped. This morning 10 babies

from shipped eggs! I have 2 that I didn't candle but left time in the hatcher just incase. I still had other chicks hatching too so I was not giving up. I will brag more if they hatch.

If she offers Blue Rocks (barred maybe) TAKE THEM you will not be disappointed!

Thank you for the kind words. Yes I did use you as a guinea pig...LOL. You were the first person I had ever shipped eggs to and I was so scared something would go wrong. Thanks to all the great swappers on here I have seen what works for shipping and was able to package my eggs correctly. Amazing that that many hatched considering some of them were 7+days old and the PO took 5 days to get them to you. I really have to thank my roo Buster, he's the one getting the job done. Must be all the Florida sunshine.

I have been watching - I have three different sets that should lay at any time!!! Hubby said I have been watching them so closely that I should just put a camera in and watch on the laptop while on the couch. I was thinking it was a good idea until he said it would kinda be like watching "chicken porn" and then it lost all of its appeal....
