I think if you are an importer you have to be USDA inspected and maybe if you ship to Canada. I guess if you sell a lot of processed meat you have to be inspected too.

GUESS WHAT!?! I got my first Pilgrim goose egg today!!!! This is from my youngest pair and it is the first egg ever from my goose in that pen.

So I received a shipping box with 2 serama from OR. shipping cost $39. I went to priority mail the empty box back...they wanted $46! How does that happen?!

Printing shipping at HOME is less than at the counter by 15%. Be sure you are entering the proper weight and dimensions. I just shipped TWO swan boxes to Michigan fully put together and they were $36 each

I need some advice please from Shellie or anyone else with sebbies. I have 2 sweethearts, Curly and Ruffy. They rule the yard and sleep in the coop with my layer flock. I bought them last spring as goslings and the breeder thought that one was male and one was female. That might be correct because I think I caught a glimpse of Curly trying to cover Ruffy in the water a couple of days ago. So...do sebbies start laying at a year? If so, what type of nesting area should I provide? Is it ok that they still sleep in the coop or would it be better for them to have their own place?

Yes Sebbies breed and lay and have goslings at age 1 (first spring the year following when they hatched)

They SHOULD have their own space since if she goes broody she and he both will defend the nest, and well the chieksn wont be welcomed lol

A pet taxi dog kennel works great as a nesting spot inside a secure house. Fill it up with lots of straw and or hay and let her do the work at building the nest.

They DONT lay on top of the straw, and WILL burry them out of sight, so make sure you look for eggs regularly

She should lay just about every other day, sometimes every three and roughly 30 eggs on average from year to year.

Ok so I got too many turkey eggs and now I need a second incubator ALREADY! Which is better for turkey eggs a still air incubator or one that comes with a fan? I am asking because I thought I saw someone say that the still air one was better for turkey and goose eggs but then again I could just be seeing things too!
