Summery of today's rule changes:

First rule change, old rule:

If the thread stalls for 6 hours, try changing your offer if you can. If you can offer PayPal after 6 hours please do so in order to keep the thread moving.

New Rule:

If the thread stalls for 6 hours, it will be rolled back the previous offer. We have over 160 swappers registered. An offer that is stalling the thread for over 8 hours means there are others who can not swap. Instead of listing just one offer, put multiple offers. Give the swappers a few options to choose from. For example instead of offering:

6+ XYZ eggs

Offer instead:

6+ XYZ eggs

or 6+ ABC eggs

or 6+ LMN eggs

More options means the thread will continue to move and it won't stall. The 24 hour rules still stands. I

If you stall the thread for more than 24 hours TOTAL - ALL OFFERS for the current week COMBINED - you will not trade for the rest of the week. If possible the stalled offer will be rolled back to the offer before.

Second rule change: Old rule:

Any type of eggs are allowed as long as the 1st offer is 6 pure chicken or 4 duck or 8 Guinea eggs or 4 for turkey or 3 for goose or 12 for quail.
First offer (each swap) MUST be either PUREBRED eggs, PUREBRED chicks (ducklings, goslings, etc), or PayPal (minimum $15) Additional offerings can be for mixed. First offer eggs or chicks must be available to send within 2 weeks. Paypal must be paid within 24 hrs, unless noted when to expect it in the offer.

First of all, let me clarify the above statement, The pure part involves all poultry breeds. Pure meaning they are the same breed and same color/recognized color. It is appropriate to breed blue, black and splash together. This would be consider pure if they are all the same breed. It is not appropriate to breed blue to creole and consider that pure, even if they are both the same breed. Same goes for ducks, turkeys and the like. Must be the same breed and color combination that is acceptable. OE/EEs do not count is pure.

With that being said, the rule is changing slightly to state: 6 pure chicken eggs from the same breed or 4 pure chicken eggs from 2 different breeds. It has been noticed that some are offering hen's choice or 3 eggs from 2 different breeds. Shipping eggs are a gamble as it is and most swappers want a better chance at actually hatching a few from the same breed. Offering hen's choice could mean getting 1 egg from 6 different breeds and this tends to stall the thread. I can only speak for myself but frankly, I couldn't claim that. I want a better chance of getting some hens from a particular breed, not a motley crew of possible roosters. I do understand hens aren't laying and it's hard to offer the eggs but Spring is coming. We are hoping this rule change will keep the swap moving along a little better.

Last rule change for the time being!!

As everyone knows postage went up last month. It is no longer cheap to send packages through the USPS. Heck, for me to send a box from MD to CA it costs over $17 and that's just for 6 eggs. Good gracious. So, in keeping up with rising shipping costs the minimum paypal will be raised to $17. I have received quite a few swap boxes and most of us double box or use large enough boxes to ensure extra padding and protection for the babies inside. $17 is a small price to pay considering the awesome eggs that are being offered on this swap!

This will take affect midnight tonight.

Was there a new rule about the post numbers I missed? I usually try to quote what I am mining and it seems there was a disscussion on the swap thread about a new rule? This was always requested so did something change? Like if what you are mining is not quoted or the post number is not there it is not a valid mine?

There were a lot of posts today so I just want to make sure I have this right. If 3 people mine at the same time and only one has the post number they get the swap? I know it can be hard for Walli to keep up and we love her for all her hard work on the spreadsheets so anything to help her is great, I just want to make sure I have it right. Heck I have a hard time keeping up. It would be great if everyone would QUOTE what they are mining even if there is not offer yet.

I want to clarify I MISSED any conversation on this so I am clueless.

Things got all messed up this morning with "mines" flying all around. Ninjas were everywhere.

The swap page was stopped for just a few minutes while it was straightened out. Somewhere in one of Madams old posts it was decided that "mines" need to have a number or name with them to prevent confusion. I guess its not new however hasn't really been enforced.

I have been eating more, but I am trying not to. With all the birds I cannot afford to go buy new clothes b/c I get too fluffy. lol

LOLOLOL Everyone already calls me the bird woman. I wonder if that would be good marketing? I supply two feed stores with chicks now. Hopefully three next year. They only want RIR's, Sexlinks, etc though. But I have deals with them, I get feed for chicks. Three bags of feed per 10 chicks.

Either the swap page is in the sig....(half of y'all have them memorized! ) Orr I guess y'all know what they are gonna say...and ninja snatch it....doesn't make it easy for us slow pokes or I would imagine easy for the newbies who don't or haven't swapped much. J/ s

I wait to mine until they post the offer. I just know the minute I mine something thinking I'm getting one thing, they will post something else.
