I am so annoyed with our post office. The last 3 shipments of eggs have had call for pickup on the box- all over the box and guess what? No call and it is delivered instead of me picking it up. I had one that was supposed to be in Saturday- it wasn't at the po and I found out Monday morning that it was attempted to be delivered and was about to go back out for delivery. They went in the back and brought me the eggs and he said, "well.. we left a note that we tried to deliver it"- I gave him the box back and told him to read the label. He said, "hmm.." I told him that was the third time in the last 2 weeks. He told me he would talk to his deliverer about it.
I go to the post office to drop my packages off and he tells me, "I can't accept these- they are regional rate boxes (I happened to mark out the regional rate on the boxes) and you haven't paid for regional rate. I go on to tell him that I have been shipping this way for the last 2 months because no other boxes are available from the post office. He tells me that they are having the same problem- can't get any boxes in. Then he tells me that he still can't accept them but if I would walk over to the self drop box he would catch the boxes and put them in the deliveries.
So, that's what I did (while rolling my eyes) and guess what? They were accepted and sent off to the main sorting facility in Knoxville last night and out to their delivery location this morning.
Its so funny- they guys in the back always call me for deliveries and the ones in the front couldn't care any less.
x2 I had two packages over the last two days that said hold or call for delivery that still went out with a carrier and back to the po because we weren't here

Here are our top Buff dewlaps who are 2 years old Hansel and Gretel
And Gandalf our 2 year old grey gander
The "kids" (yearlings) were all too busy off grazing for photos this morning

thanks all, we have a favorite phrase here............. go big or go home lol. So these geese fit the bill perfectly. Is also why we have the Brahmas and collecting more Orps. Hubby loves the big round birds. Very excited because the goose laid an egg yesterday too! Per the breeder she hadnt laid there yet, so this is egg one for this year.
The dewlaps are the EASIEST of the geese by far. They dont like large spaces, they dont care for large water either. a kiddie pool or two, a nice green space to mill about in and some shade to sleep in they are happy. They dont like to travel long distances during the day making them pretty comfy in most flock set ups.
