Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

I've been wondering... How do you mark chicks so you know who came from which egg and subsequently who it's parents are? Do you have to take each chick out during the hatch?

If we need to trace chicks from certain eggs they get hatched in separate drawers (if in the redwood) and or in baskets if in the dickey (which I try hard not never hatch in) then its easier to leave everyone alone until all are hatched and mark them at once.

I am so excited to get him... But I might have to fight Meg for him come May!! 

Who is suppose to hold him for you?

Me! Alex (doubleatraining) will pick him up from Herducks. I will get him from Alex, and then hold him until May. Hubby is finishing the quarantine house this weekend...which means put a door on it. I just wish he was going to have company. I might have to donate a pullet to him. Shoot....how old is he, anyway?

Received my eggs from Papa Brooder today

GREAT packing job!!!!! WOW just wow!!! He got 36 eggs double boxed in one shipment!!! They all arrived safe and sound and are resting right now. Thank you for all the extras, there were lots!!!

You can also use those mesh laundry bags.....

Someone else was using lingerie bags to put the eggs in.


Oh, and I now have six BBS Ameraucanas out, four pipped, and the Silver Sussex that made it to lockdown is also pipped! Lots of new chickies!
