I am highly anxious about it, but I don't know if I am being rational, and should go to the ER an hour away, incase it gets worst, or if I should just try to get some sleep since he isn't having any other symptoms except for slight retraction

Sah- does he have reactive airway/ asthma?

Sounds like he may be having what they call retractions. What does his lungs sound like? Can you hear anything with just your ears when you get close to his chest?

Ok. I need advice. Panic attack mode mom here.
If your 4 year old had a cough, and sounded croupy when he breathed all day, then around 9 pm (11:45 now) starts heaving his chest more to breath, but is still nose breathing and not seeming uncomfortable, and has stayed just like that... Just heavin his chest harder than his normal breather, but no accelerated breathing or signs of lack of O2...
Would you go to the ER, or call the nighttime nurse, or would you just keep an eye on it and wait??
If you are worried go to the ER rather be safe than sorry. It couldn't hurt, and it will put your mind at ease. When I am worried sick about my girls I just take them to the ER.

Do you have a cold mist humidifier? If you do I would set it up and use it. Vicks on the chest or under the nose always helps me too.

If its going to be very worry some you could just call and ask what they think. I hope your little one feels better soon! And I hope mom does too.

He has never had breathing problems but one case of croup in December.
When I listen, he sounds very very faintly wheezy.
I have humidifiers on right next to the bed. He is not coughing any more. I have him Motrin two hours ago, thinkin that might help with any inflammation in airways like croup.

I am going to at least call. I will end up sitting ere feeling sick to my stomach and on the verge of tears if I don't get a professional opinion.
I am usin the vapor steam stuff in the humidifier, but in my anxiety stricken state, I am now afraid it's makin it worst, but I can't shut it off, because I am afraid THAT'S going to make it worst. Lol it's a vicious cycle

It is also possible for 2 individuals to have the same IP address when they are using different service providers.  It could be that she does have the same IP address, odd but possible.

Wow I would not have known that. I had the same IP addy from one service provider to another and thought it had to do with the computer or physical address. Learnt something new.

I would take him in. Sounds like he may have reactive airway which can be brought on by a cold. Some kids outgrow it and some continue on to have asthma.

Reactive airway is different that croup and you may be dealing with both, really depends on what his lungs sound like. It is best to get him checked out now before it gets worse. Treatment at the hospital will be a nebulizer with either Xopenex or Albuteral.

Thanks everyone for the opinions and support. I am waiting right now to have a doctor call me back. They are usually pretty good about it.
My instinct is just to go to the ER. Like I said, though, I get panic attacks, so I am always afraid I am just being paranoid and just going to cause unnecessary problems. The hospital is an hour away ad we are uninsured. The state of Florida has decided to take its sweet time getting our kidscare back... And this would be the 2nd night time ER visit in a month.
He is still doing the same. Not gasping, hes breathing through his noise, but heaving his chest on every breath. His respitory rate is not increased, at least it's at 25/mom which I believe is normal for his age.
