Mine are really flighty and skittish too. It is driving me crazy. Since I don't owe any eggs out from them I think I may just list them for auction. I could use the pen space for the new Rare breeds I have.

ok, I have thought about it. I am not going to get them. It is just too pricey and I am assuming they are hatchery stock. Like I need another breed anyway. I have enough now as it is. I need to concentrate on what I have now.
Another question, I read that Plymouth barred rocks are supposed to be great egg layers. But My bantams have really slowed in laying and they just started. I heard the bantams are supposed to be just as good layers. Anyone have these? and how do yours lay?
Tarantulas are fascinating creatures.
Chocolate sounds like what you need. Sweethearts too.Mine are really flighty and skittish too. It is driving me crazy. Since I don't owe any eggs out from them I think I may just list them for auction. I could use the pen space for the new Rare breeds I have.

I once bought a colony of termites for my frogs. And I've collected them in old woodpiles and brought them home for my frogs. There is NOTHING better for pumping up a thin frog. They eat them like candy and they are high fat.
I have wondered about the wisdom of bringing in colonies of something into my house that would like to eat my house, LOL. You just have to be careful with them.![]()

My breeding pen of bantam BR has nine hens. I get 6-8 eggs from them every day. They are friendly, run up to me for treats and crowd around my feet. They are also one of the pens I can literally lean over and pick up any bird without them trying to move away. I can't say I've worked with them, it was just natural to them. I love them and I think they are gorgeous eye candy.
I do have LF BR too, but they are juvies.
WARNING: Pictures of nature at its finest but some will find freaky! Please skip if you aren't fond of 8 legged creatures or continue on if you are curious!!!For those who don't know what this is, this is my second largest tarantula molting his old clothes and putting on some new ones. I got to watch the whole process and yes, I also found out it's a boy!!!!
