GOOD NEWS everyone!!!

I passed my thesis defense yesterday and only have a few minor grammatical revisions to make. I'm getting closer and closer to graduation.

My Seramas...they are undeniably the BEST layers I have ! Tiny little useless eggs but.....

They have great personalities, are super sweet and beautiful colors. They make me smile....that is what it is all about .

I was terrified of spiders until I got my first tarantula!

My uncle had tarantulas and a boa constrictor. I had no problem with the snake at all.. the spider though... I just really don't like spiders at all.

Same here. They freak me out and we have the wolf spiders bad here. Some of them are as big as my hand.

Gives me the creeps.

eww! I have wolf spiders at our house- they are as big as some of my chicks! They scare the crap out of me, but, not as bad a black widows. We have them in every dark musty spot around here, its not so much they are spiders- its just knowing they could bite you without you knowing and then you really don't know how severe it could be. I was bit by a brown recluse 10 years ago on my cheek- never even knew it! It went from black line to my whole face was swollen and looked just terrible. see why I don't like spiders...

I just bought 7 of the bantam calico cochins. I am going to go down either Friday or Sunday to get them. (Hmm, how do I get them into the brooder without hubby seeing? LOL I know, I can move them all to the outside brooder.) She wanted me to come down to choose the exact 7 I wanted as the color range is so wide. Wasn't that considerate of her? She said some are light and some are almost chocolate in color. I think she has several other breeds and colors. I may come back with more than 7.

By the way, does anyone want an BBR Araucana cockerel? This little devil is just too active. He won't leave any of the girls alone. I have to get him out of my layer pen. He is from the very last group of University of Arkansas Araucana eggs ever. He is tailless but cleanfaced unless the tufts are tiny. I haven't checked him out that closely. Legs are willow. The fellow is so randy that he actually jumped and caught my BR pullet as she was flying to get away from him.
