I have Favs, Houdans & Dorkings from the U of A popping in my incubator. I just realized that all of these have 5 toes.

I hope I can tell the Dorkings. I'm going to have to bathe my Houdan that pipped in the turner. He has pieces of eggshell stuck all over his backend. Poor thing was hung up on his back this morning stuck between the unhatched turkey egg and the wall chirping like a son of a gun. I quickly cracked the top and turned him over.

Hello happy chicken friends- just wanted to share my newest great find

I'm sure everyone is having the same problem as me keeping chicks separated during lockdown

I'm currently hatching in my Hovabator and placing similar eggs in separate baskets for the hatch. Problem is the tallest basket I can get to fit in the Hovabator in no match for my Ameraucanas and Olive Eggers. I swear those guys hit the ground running. I think they even have the pecking order established before they hit the brooder- lol crazy chickens.

So check it out- found these really cool bug catcher toys in my local drug store. They were 3 dollars each

I'll be stopping at CVS on my way home today. I've got marans and orps and button quail all due to hatch at the same time this week, and have been reviewing my options to protect the little quail. These are perfect for them! Thanks!

I was just thinking the same thing. I have quail, ducks & chicks supposed to be hatching together tomorrow.

RadioShack too.  I got one from Walmart.  Mine has 3 plugs in it.  Get a good one.  I bought one that was cheap and it broke the first time.

Inverters are a great investment for traveling, just make sure you get one that suits your needs. The higher the wattage rating, the more you can plug into it. Also, look at the average power vs. surge power. Most inverters advertise their surge power and cannot maintain that for lengthy periods of time. Look closely at the packaging for the average power rating.

It's really easy to determine if your inverter will provide enough power for your needs. Voltage (V) x amperage (A) = watts (W). So, a 120V source providing 10A will produce 1200W of power. If you will be powering multiple things, go with the biggest one possible.

my truck has actual outlets in it. LoL Can plug things right in without a converter

That is great.... they built one in for you. You can buy BIG ones too that you can install permanently. We have one of those too for the truck. We just use it to run power tools when we don't have electricity handy. One like that would be great. I may have to put one in the van for trips and things. I don't think they are expensive either. Maybe $30 and up.
