Morning all! I'm finally sort of feeling better - had a migraine for the last three days. Usually vicodin works great, but I forgot to eat anything with it and I was way sick for a whole day. I think the exedrin should be able to dull it to a managable amount of pain today. My grow out pen is way full. I've got to go out and determine who I'm keeping (for now). Then I need to list the other ones on CL. I hate making decisions like this! On top of that, it is pouring. Wonderful spring weather all week, and today when I'm feeling better, it pours.

AyeUp sent me a wonderful box of chicks - I claimed "a couple" chicks instead of eggs, and she had her friend drive them closer to me. She sent 9!!!! One of the littlest escaped from the safely pen and got trampled by the bigger chicks, but the others are doing great. My daughter (she's 10) found the trampled one and brought the rest in the house and got them set up all by herself (since I was dying in bed). She was thrilled to see the CCL boy - she's fallen in love with our little girl and now we have a pair.

How do you choose what to keep??? I've got over 50 growing out right now, and I promised my Mr I'd limit my breeds/projects to three - Rainbow Layers that do well in my area (rain, muck, and more rain) CCL and Rhodebar. Ideally I want to be able to hatch some rainbow layer sexlinks next year. I'm trying to determine who/what to use as the rooster(s) in my layer flock....suggestions?

Goats are wonderful creatures! We got them for weed-eating, too(wethers,) but I was surprised at how much personality they had! Everyone should have goats!!!

Does anyone have Bantam Chocolate Wyandotte's chicks closer to Missouri than Minnesota for a customer who really wants to get into the breed? She is really interested in developing them. Please let me know.

Just wanted to stop in and say hello. I received eggs from some people today. I will post it at some point. I don't feel much like even opening them at the moment. I'll be on later. Headed back to bed for as long as I can possibly get away with...
