So I need advice...
I have a customer who has stiffed me twice on an egg order. Both times they came back with "Just put my name lower on the list, I cannot afford to buy them this week". So, I wrote them back this last time and told them I will require a deposit on any orders from them. They were Exch Leghorn eggs so not hard to sell them real fast. They are pretty irate about it. Did I do the right thing? Would you require them to make a deposit?

Good News!!!!!!!! They are covering my car under warranty!!!!!!!

i also called on the cooler bator but they are out of town until Sunday. I'm not sure if I'm confident enough to operate it. They say it isn't theirs they just want to sell it and have no idea how it works

Quote: Wow! Personally, I am of the thought that when you learn to drive, you should learn on a stick-shift!

Same thought applies with operating an incubator! If you learn with the hardest, the rest is easy and you appreciate it more!

That sounds tempting.....but not together!

I am interested in swapping someday and wondered what it costs to package and ship six eggs
Regional rate (box A-it is similar to flat rate and holds up to 15 lbs.) can be shipped most distances from me for about $6-7.
Quote: Yes, but you are in ALASKA! We can ship down here a lot cheaper.

Do you have any pictures you can share? I want to see Alaska someday......

I think you did I mean taking up an order slot twice is kinda a big deal. Especially if they are eggs that sell fairly quickly.

I would have done the same thing.

Today we have had eggs from the following chicken breeds:

SFH
LB
LLO
Bantam Columbian Cochins

You did the right thing, but I've been on their end before, too. I had an unexpected expense and didn't have the money for them. It was once, though.

What are the LB?

See, I have been there too. I actually made payments last year on one group of 12 eggs...

But I was up front about it, and even mowed grass to make some money to pay my bill. That is when the DH almost cut his thumb off.

I can ship to zone 9 for $9.88 in the regional rate box, even up to 10lbs. I believe that Regional rate A tops out at that $9.88. I haven't calculated to AK though. What's your zip? I'm curious now!

What's kippered salmon?

And, TSC has the LG's on sale for awhile at $37 (my price after taxes). I'm not sure how much shipping would be though.
