Maybe I can convince my bf to buy it for me. . . He wants me to raise ducks though.
The only one I want are runner ducks and they are super flighty I guess so they won't make very good pets . . .
I don't know of any duck that makes a good "pet" I have Cayugas and they won't let me walk up to them, but they will walk up to and follow me

That's what I was thinking :/ I've never heard of anyone with duck that were particularly affectionate.
But then again up till two days ago I had never heard of a turkey being that way either.

I just took some out of hatcher and putting more in tomorrow morning

Yup seems to be an almost couple of day thing here too. I empty, clean, candle and hatch. Rinse and repeat.

I have a naughty couple of girls that you need to have a talk with. Napoleons girls keep getting out and I don't know which eggs are theirs. Well that and I think Fat B the humongous dark Cornish has been squishing the bejeezes out of them. He likes those little girls. Those would be some weird looking chicks, but i bet they couldnt fly. I keep saying "you little naughty girls need to stop tramping around and get me some good eggs for Clarence." They are some very bad little speckled girls.

Ever since my hubby let them out thinking he was helping I can't seem to keep them in. They can squish through the tiniest spots. Waldo is the worst. She's the instigator.

Thankfully my turkeys aren't naughty like that.

COF can tell you which ducks are more friendly.

We have Khaki Campbell's. they aren't pretty like some, but they lay a ton of eggs. And apparently they are fertile myrtle this year. Every egg that I have set is going gangbusters. Now I just need to find homes for them when they hatch.

Ducks are really fun to own, although not so fun when little - very messy! But sooo cute that you have to overlook that part. I thought I wanted Runner ducks until I actually owned some, and they were nervous nellies. No fun at all. Now, my Rouen and the Pekin/Rouen mixes are adorable, even almost all grown up! Super friendly, talkative (not like my Muscovys who stand around quietly thinking deep thoughts) and unafraid. Rouens rock. Well, the scovies are pretty awesome too, and pretty - just quiet.

ETA: Just read Flocksalot's post, and I forgot to mention my 3 Khaki Campbells, who will eat out of my hand, how could I forget that?!

So to sum it up: Everyone needs turkeys, ducks, bantams and big 'ol fat chickens of any variety. To start with, at least.
