I think that since USPS started using more machines to sort and process packages, my hatching rates have plummeted. I've tried ordering eggs from closer-by, but they take even longer than those that fly to Billings from their origin city. Those get here in 2 days, usually.

I have personally had the worst hatches/egg massacres with unmarked boxes. Boxes marked "Fragile" or "Hatching eggs" do better for me, but I know other people have had exact opposite results. I suppose it's just the luck of the draw on who/what comes in contact with your package =/

I'm one of those who has had the exact opposite result.

Any time I get eggs marked "Hatching eggs", they arrive with broken air sacs. If someone only marks "fragile" once on the box or doesn't mark them at all, I've been getting good results. It is so strange how one area is so different than another. Now, whenever I send eggs, I only write "fragile" once on them and put a smiley face. It seems goofy, but my thinking is if I put a smiley face on it, maybe they will see that I'm not trying to be mean or rude by writing "fragile", but instead that it is just a kind reminder... Not sure if that psychology works, but that's what I do. lol

I am 1 of those that if the box is marked fragile, it has definitely been kicked and stomped. I don't mark my boxes and so far it is working for me.

The box in that picture was an unmarked one, and it's the worst I've gotten, but others I've gotten unmarked had broken eggs, and generally abused boxes.

I've had best results with boxes marked "FRAGILE" and "This Side Up" so the eggs don't get flipped all around (ideally).

I just got a box of eggs that had 16 broken out of 30. Looks like it was used to stand on.

I'm so sorry to hear that! It is so sad what they do to some of these packages!!!
