Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

I'm totally flummoxed here. All these bad hatches. Laura's ducks doing nothing. And because they were in the Hovabator-turned -hatcher, I put my Black English Orpingtons and her Silver Penciled Rocks in the hatcher tray of the cabinet, just like I did my poor button quail. And I not only have chicks hatching...five of mine and four of hers so far...I have turkey poults that aren't due for a couple days raining down from the turning trays. Okay, only one has rained all the way down, but still. I should have put that batch on lockdown yesterday and forgot them. Why would this batch hatch...the chicks several days late and the turkeys a couple days early...but others fail completely?

I'm not even sure what to check first, now. Although I'm leaning toward the Hovabator. All the failed hatches other than the buttons have been in it.

If anyone is interested, I have 24 silkie eggs (from black and white pens) plus tomorrows and 17 black dutch bantams plus tomorrows that i would side swap for something. If anyone wants them pm me what you have. These can ship first thing monday.

Question: I'm exepecting an order of eggs to be delivered today. I checked the tracking and it said it was delivered at 10:38am. I didn't accept it, nor did anyone else at my house. What are my options?

It's Saturday...they're closed now. They've never held packages before, unless that is specified, which this one was not. Plus, they're really good about calling me. My carrier knew I was expecting more eggs and was going to tell the Saturday carrier...Interesting is that when I checked my mailbox at 1, I hadn't received any mail at all, but when my Mr got home at 1:30, he brought in a few letters. So, they didn't even deliver my until after 1:30, and I was home this morning when they said they delivered it.

That happened to me this week with duck eggs. They scanned it delivered. I think they scan it delivered sometimes when they put it on the truck to go out, but if it doesn't get off the truck then it shows it was delivered when it wasn't. I got mine the next day.

It is a bit of a haul...although it's worth it. Today the sun even came out to turn the sloppy mucky mud to sticky mucky mud. A couple more days like today and we'll have hard as rock clay....which will turn back to mud as soon as it rains again. But - we had 2 days of snow - which was a light dusting, didn't even phase the animals....or (more importantly) the school busses.

Hi peeps!!! For those that I owed White Bresse eggs to, they were moved to their new coop/pen. I'm hoping they don't stop laying but we all know how that goes. Their pen is complete yet but I wanted to get them moved ASAP. Tomorrow is mulch and hopefully DH will get my Jeep fixed. I have a coop and pen to get cleaned as well. Never a dull moment around here.
