Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

I just got home form the Reno, NV show (after white knuckling over two summits - snow). I'm glad to see my swap offer was taken and I didn't hold up the thread in my absence.

I thought I'd say for anyone that's taken my campine eggs, my chief roo (still a cockerel for a couple of more months) went Champion Continental (he was reserve at the last show). He was seriously considered for Best in Show (800+ birds). Two of the judges told me afterwards he is a very nice bird, just a little off in condition right now. I almost didn't even bring him because I thought he was too moltly looking.

My NH pullet was Reserve Ch. American. I had several other BB & RB. It was a good show! (despite the drive home

Congratulations!!!! GIves you that warm, fuzzy feeling inside when you get compliments like that.

I just got back from the other side of the state. Took a 5 hour trip today and picked up a pair of lavender Orps and a Coronation Sussex hen. I'll have eggs to offer from them in about a month (as soon as I'm sure eggs are fertilized by this guy since they were running together with some blue laced red wyandottes). Here's a picture of the Coro hen and the lavender roo.

Nice birds!

Thank you

How come moms nose looks a little long almost like a pitbull, not trying to cause a problem just asking..
I thought so too at first glance, but it is just the angle of the shot.

I'm planning on it. I am hoping someone is laying so I have something to set, since shipped eggs may be a little iffy then because of the cold weather.
I am too again, provided I don't trade away the few eggs my girl are currently laying so I have something to set.

Wow!!! Fantastic!

Is a step in the right direction. I will say the description stated very little difference between them and the Easter egger. I can't tell you how many times I thought about writing and telling them they are just giving the wrong information... I just didn't want to be THAT person.
There is a farm locally that sells started pullets as a business, and they advertise their hatchery Easter eggers as true ameruacanas. When I first got into chickens I was given a real black Ameruacana, so I went to the farm to buy a friend for her. I didn't quite userstand the difference like I do now, so I bought an Easter egger. I really can't complain, since she lays almost everyday and her eggs are large and beautiful. She, and my other mutt hen (believed to be a Cochin/Sumatra cross) are the only ones laying right now. I bought the other cross from a breeder who claimed it was a Cochin chick. I am just glad I did the research so I didn't breed her and sell the chicks as true ameruacanas
This is she:

sawithchicke~~ you just might take a couple of minutes and look up "Silver Ameraucana" This hen is colored like one. She may be hatchery stock, , and I cannot see her chest. Just thought I would give a color to look up, I will get a couple of picture up of my breeder Silver ameraucanas. They are large fowl.

I will look up the color, thank you... I am pretty sure she is hatchery stock Easter egger. She has the silver lacing around her head, but then her body is a brown.

I was taking pictures of my ameraucanas for the paypal swap page, because mine is up. When I was out there, my main lemon cuckoo orp roo was begging to have his pic taken, so I thought I would share this pic since there are many of you getting my lemon cuckoo orps in spring.
