Nope, and I haven't seen a mite at all. I was having a problem with them once it started warming back up and I hadn't had a problem with them in a while. But we have had so many birds coming through here lately that I saw some on my birds a couple months back. So since I started doing this I don't see any on them. I also put it in my dogs and cats water to keep the fleas away.

I love garlic too though so if it flavored the eggs I would probably love it.

Ok garlic for mites, fresh or just seasoning or the minced kind, we have just started getting a mite problem in the last 2 weeks not real bad but not good EITHER.

Good morning everybody!

Tonight I go back to work for 7 nights. I work 7pm to 7am for 7 nights then I'm off for 7. Does anybody else here work night shift?

I worked for 18 years on the Vicksburg Fire Department and did more than my share of shifts on the ambulance over that time. I salute you for doing a hard job that does so much good. Now I'm an RN on the Hem/Onc floor at the children's hospital.

THAT is a hard job! I don't think I would be able to stand seeing all those sick children. My mother was a nurse. She used to say the sadest cases were those involving children.

That has got to be so rough- Anytime children are involved it's emotional for me

Just went to start pulling eggs to go into lockdown and a turkey came flying out! These midgets can be stinkers! They are supposed to go into lockdown tomorrow, but they are so excited to get here. Two others are pipped. Looks like I'm getting my turkey love early this week. Yeah, turkeys!

And no the temps are accurate. For some reason one strain of the midgets is like that. The chicken or duck eggs all hatch normal time. I prefer to think of it as they can't wait to meet me!

I checked temp with 4 thermometers (temp fine), then used my hospital termometer after I thought about it. Temp is definitely fine. Hygrometer, well, that I'd have to check. How would I? I don't have any thermometers that I could do a wet bulb.

Just wanted to say that often when thermometers go off they go off together. I calibrated in January and all 4 of the ones I use were off together. They went off some time in November and I was having the hatches from hell.

I think I am having an issue with the ones I just bought. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good thermometer and how to keep them calibrated? Mine are giving me fits.

and they are here!

Quote: No as the idea isnt for hoof stock or anything with weight behind it. Chickens weigh so very little tey can walk across the frames without damaging them allowing the bed to keep growing.
Unless it happens to be Caj's monsters

My turkeys hatch a day or two early also...everything else is right on time.
