I' m jealous. In California it would be illegal for me to process or pluck for other people.

I can only do if I go to their house and it is not for resale....I can't do it on my property (being in the city would make that ackward anyway

What a day. Wyandotte coop is almost done. We have a few more things to do and the new tenants will be moving in. Then the remaining wyandotte roosters will be moving to a smaller pen. And I can finally get the chicks out of the house yet again.

It is a buyers market right now...I guess everyone has gotten all the birds they want for the year, lol. I took RP poults last night, and got $3 a piece for them

So no more incubating turkeys this year...gonna let the hens set some eggs after a couple swaps I owe and will take what's left in the incubators and grow out for a couple months to pick some hens, the rest will be processed. Oh I also took some Mille Fleur D'Uccles chicks...they went for $1.50 each.

Chicks here are going for like $0.35 each. Crazy stuff.

Because of the bad weather we have been having no one is buying chicks at the local feed store I guess. They have nearly full grown birds hanging out. If they would put a sale price on them even like 20% off I would buy a few but they still want nearly 5$ a chick for most breeds and 10$ for turkey chicks.

Yea but your selling them they aren't. Lol these turkeys are getting big enough to where they have to crouch in the brooder.

I dont own them any longer lol 2014 we will have buff, and lilac pens with greys and saddlebacks also possible from them. I didnt want to build a blue flock tohelp the lavenders along as it was one more breeding house and subdivided yards to build

I love blue

... and grey saddlebacks....and lilac.... and white..... hehe
