I picked up a bourbon red and a royal palm a few weeks ago.  I should post pictures,  How early can you make a good guess on the sex?

With my midgets I'm pretty good at telling them really young. Like at hatch if I'm paying attention. With other breeds I can look for telltale signs but am in no way an expert. But any turkey no mater the breed is adorable and I LOVE pics.

Did you decide to forgo on the midgets then? I've been busy and haven't had time the check on the Wisc thread for a train. I know you had incubation problems, but I may have some extra poults if you decide you want them. I'm not sure how far you are from Profti, but she had good hatches on them too.

I am thinking about a set of the GQF stackable brooders. Anyone have thoughts on these?

I had one. Well I still have it but it didn't work for me. I have issues with raising my arms and stupid stuff like that, so I cannibalized them for parts. They are really nice, but my body sucks. Can't reach up, can't squat or kneel down. Crud you would think I'm getting old or something! Anyway the only other issue I found is that it's not good for goslings. Too tall too fast! Was really nice separated though!

Quote: Oh no not for the goslings, they are spoiled rotten with floor stalls and auto waters and over head sweeterheaters. Actually all waterfowl are on solid floors with pellet bedding, and yard time daily from age 3 days and up.

Looking at them for chicks and turkey's.since I have room in the garage next to the fodder rack

I have them - the heated brooder on top and two unheated grow outs underneath. I have a 50 chick ecoglow in the middle one for a middle step. I LOVE it. I went back and bought the 5 stack quail unit for my quail pens.

Of course, the shipping is as much as the units. - ETA - of course I'm in CA and they are in GA (I think).

Putting it together is a nightmare..................a million screws and parts and limited instructions. It's one of those manuals that is mostly pictures and not too much English.

shipping would be 120$ for the 5 deck since they are just up in GA

those are pictures of the chicks I had hatch out in SFH. I think I've got a decent color assortment, just don't think there is any more crested in there...
