Can someone explain SBEL to me? I know it's an EE or Blue layer crossed with a leghorn but can someone fill me in on why? Are they just more reliable layers?

Can someone explain SBEL to me? I know it's an EE or Blue layer crossed with a leghorn but can someone fill me in on why? Are they just more reliable layers?

They are a white leghorn hen covered by an Ameracauna rooster. My leghorn hens lay an XXL egg. The resulting hens should lay XL blue eggs and lay as well as the leghorns.
