Okay, I need hatching prayers.  I have 9 very special eggs going into lockdown tonight.  Hoping at least a few hatch!

I am getting some from Paul Smith too!  Blacks, Lavs and Blue Wheatens. SOOOOO excited!

I got two blacks...very nice birds! I wanted some lava....maybe I can get a lav roo and a lav pullet too!!!!! Lol I keep making more pens!!

A portion of the chicks I hatch will be donated to hurricane victims who've lost their flocks so I'm really excited about that. But they'll be mine for a while!

Dahlisgrams, that's wonderful! I sold some eating eggs last fall (I'll probably be selling more next year since I'm going to have a LOT more hens) but most of the extras I just sent down to the senior center with my landlady. The economy's so tight around here, especially if you're a senior, that every little bit helps!

Ok Everyone. I have NEWS!!!!
I got my first brown egg today...the first one in at least a month. From one of my white orps!!!!!!! I have only gotten 2 eggs from the adult birds since I got them over a month ago. I tested those eggs for fertility.... so now they are good to go!!

that a cpl more get with the program, then I can start sending out swaps!!!!!!!!

I think one of the best things about chickens is that you can gift friends and family with eggs and whatnot, I love that about them!! A couple of my friends are doing an online auction to raise money to fund their adoption of two young boys from Ghana, and I donated spring eggs and chicks

It felt great to be able to do that for them, just hope someone bids, lol.
