Sorry. I've been gone for a few days because of a crisis that turned out to be a misunderstanding on my end. In the end, I misinterpreted what the APHIS people were telling me and sold all my birds except for the Silkies and Pilgrim geese because some of my chickens got the respiratory version of fowl pox. They told me that it is really dangerous especially for chicks since it affects their lungs and can have near 100% mortality in chicks. They told me to vaccinate the ones not affected yet. I misinterpreted what they said to mean that if my chicks caught it, they would all die even with a vaccination and sold all my birds to a lady for only about $1 each. Apparently, she knew that fowl pox vaccination would save them from getting the respiratory version and grabbed them up within minutes of me posting them. Well, turns out, if I vaccinate the birds not showing symptoms, they will be 100% fine. So, long story short, my Silkies will be vaccinated this week, but everyone else is gone and the lady doesn't seem interested in selling any of the birds back.

You mean that those Orps and those beautiful Dominiques are gone?
Gasp! I was trying to wait until spring to get some of those.

So Sorry for your loss.

So sorry Tim!!!

Okay, I need hatching prayers. I have 9 very special eggs going into lockdown tonight. Hoping at least a few hatch!
Me too, I took four swaps of partridge silkie eggs from seabrightmom. She sent them in two groups. The first batch was 14 eggs, 11 of them went to lockdown today. For me, that's phenominal for shipped eggs. Now if I can just coax them out of their shells. I think this was only the second set of swap eggs I've "cooked". I also hatched three Ameraucana from DMRippy. I have several more batches still in the incubators, this was an extremely staggered hatch.

So sorry to hear this, Tim. And I can't believe the lady won't sell them back to you.

I have a Buff orp roo, and three babies that I hatched from you. If they do well, you are welcome to have them.
