Anything 14 ounce or over automatically goes Priority, not First Class. Your experiment would require shipments of only a few eggs at a time to stay within the weight threshhold. I am not familiar with parcel though . . . what are the requirments for shipping parcel post?

Parcel post is kind of like first class just a slower ground service mail. I use it a lot to send big and heavy packages. You just have to request it and you can even print parcel post from the shipnow in paypal

Then how much longer would it take? since priority takes 2 to 3 days normally

One of those "odd" things that you wouldn't do on purpose, but best shipped hatch that I ever had was using my 'starter' incubator the plain LG, no turner, etc and bantam eggs from east coast to west coast in winter (Feb) lost for 5 'extra' days (so about 3 wks min from lay) ..... 13 eggs 11 hatch! Go figure.

eggs were wrapped in dinner napkin every other spacing in carton and carton boxed with wadded newspaper then boxed again with a layer of wadded paper again.

Next order from same source, a couple of years later, full order of eggs only one hatch =:~)

I would like to try an experiment with getting eggs shipped to me. I would like someone to ship me eggs first class or parcel post whichever is cheaper and I would like the eggs to come from way east or way west from me(I am in MN). So if someone is willing to do this I would need a dozen or more, I don't care what kind and I will pay $10 PP. So if anyone is willing to do this please PM me. Thanks

Skip first class just parcel post

Parcel post is usually a few cents less than than priority mail unless it's more than 4 lbs then it could be a few cents to a few dollars it takes 6 days as Priority mail takes 2-3. I can send 12 eggs in a regional rate box to California for 9.62. Regional Rate Boxes take 2 days.

oh gotcha! sorry I was thinking it was about saving on shipping. I WAS thinking how many more times do we have to post about the Regional Boxes????? My bad.
