NJ's are autosexing. The hen chicks are brown with a white spot. The roos are blonde all over

They are very different looking, you should be able to tell right away.

I don't know the little guy in green may give you a run for you money! They are both adorable....

Also, I wanted your opinions about this chicken. I hatched it from an egg labelled Wheaten Marans- I have never really seen one, and definitely not in this vulture stage (ugly preadolescent stage)
I am aware it is a cockerel, but is it a wheaten? Anyone want it

LOL!! I thought I had to wait until they were completely dry before I could tell.

Can't wait till I get home from work to see how many I have. Would it be unreasonable to get one of those baby cams that send pictures to your laptop and point it on the incubators so I could check during the day?? (Gosh, I must have chick-itis bad to even think of that)

I want to add that it was a light yellow chick, so I am really surprised how dark he's feathering out. He still has pale fluff under some of his new feathers, his hackle area is a red copper...

The little guy in green is going to be TROUBLE. He is absolutely fearless and very tough. I can thank his big brother and the dog forthat. The rotweiller is only just a year old- and still has filling out to do. He weighs 100 lbs.
