Got eggs from catdance silkies today!!

I'm so excited! With the swap and ordering eggs, its like Christmas every day. The lady who works the front office at the main sorting facility at the USPS in Cape Girardeau, MO is the most wonderful lady ever. When eggs come through, she has them brought to her office to keep them "safe" until I come pick them up. (She does not want them to go out on route because the eggs may be shaken) and when live chicks come in she calls and if they are cheeping too loudly she checks the no. of hours they have been in route and will call and ask if she can open up the box, put a light on them and give them food and water!! She actually keeps the supplies in her office... She is the best USPS worker in the history of USPS.

Got my eggs from her today too. Too bad all postal workers weren't as caring as she is. I know I am giving my postal lady a very nice xmas gift for all she has done for me this year.

Mine is getting something nice also. Not often you find a Postal Lady that is also a Chicken Lady!!

I wish all PO workers were that kind. My local PO is very kind now. They always want to talk about the chicken guy who came from our little old town. They're funny sometimes.

In the past there was one guy there who I didn't care for, but he got fired after several "accidents" with packages...

Thanks!!! I need to update the pictures as many of those are a few months old. I did photo shoots a few weeks ago as alot of the birds were still pullets in the early pics. Hoping to get them updated in the next few weeks. Appreciate the kind words!

My SBEL are Am roo or EE roo x WL and I find that the pullets will lay a large egg.... I do think the genes for egg size are genetic from BOTH so it can be the luck of the draw. BTW you don't really want to breed a bird that lays abnormally large eggs. They tend to have issues with laying and will pass that on to the offspring. I totally understand wanting the LARGER eggs.... that is why I made my SBEL.

BTW I picked up my free eggs and free chicks.... the chicks were Rhodabars and wouldn't you know they were ALL pullets

One kind looks iffy but still has the chipmunk markings of a pullet.... time will tell. Guess I need to get a roo......

Ha ha ha, i went onto RBA which I have avoided like the plague since spending so much money on basque, legbars, rhodebars, brahmas early this year. I wanted to bid on like 5 different things and who was top bidder on ALL of them? someone from this forum! kraftyladies, cjwaldon. Good luck you two! I hope I will eventually get some choc wyandottes from you down the road!! ;-)
