I decided I would share a picture of Norwegian Jaerhons I hatched out from Cjwaldon's eggers a couple of months ago. It was done via a side-swap of sorts. They are 7 weeks old and full of friendliness. The cockerel (Lancelot) will be going home to cjwaldon in a couple of weeks (as we cannot have roosters outside where we live). Guinevere will stay with us.

Anyway, since they were hatched out of eggs from cjwaldon's NJs I figured this would be a good thread to share them on. I posted some on the NJ thread too.

This is my favorite picture. Lancelot often has this "Hey, whatcha doin? What's up? Got treats?" look on his face. I love them both a lot. Guinevere is busy kicking feed out of the bowl and eating it from the grass (she does not like to eat out of the bowl so she kicks it out and then chases it).

The ground looks gray and weird in spots because we got home late and this was taken with the flash. They were getting ready for bed but came outside to greet me when I came up to the coop area to get pictures and tuck them in.

Yeah, NJs!

Lance is so pretty! I can hardly wait to take him home. He's so handsome!

they are so freakin cute!!!!!!!!!!!!

long drive today. I went and picked up a trio of speckled sussex from breeder Walt Reichert who has been showing them really well! I thought I only had the 2 pullets available but he had put several up for me to pick from! :D I so wish I knew that or I would have brought more $$$$ with me and picked up 2 more pullets!
I will take pics tomorrow. they are up and tucked away in the barn from quarantine. I didn't get their tractor finished and will work on that tomorrow, weather permitting and try and take pics!  They are so pretty! reminds me of the jubilee coloring. :weee They are from this year's hatch too and have not started laying yet. Soooooo they can be part of the hen's choice for those that picked it for spring!!!!

I KNOW, this post is no good without pics! soon, soon!

Oh nice. I have about 20 grow outs from his eggs around 4-5 months old. Trying to narrow down and get my breeding groups together.

Ah! you are the one he must have been talking about out in Cali! I got to see all his breeders and these. Like I said, wish I had known and I would have alloted for the extra pullets! Soooooo hard to be good.

I picked up two 5-week old Wheaten Marans chicks today! I have always wanted some and am thrilled!
I actually had planned this before Spike died, but I am glad that the timing was so close...now I have some babies to take care of and coddle.
hoping to make them really friendly while they are in the house in Quarantine.

if anyone has a wheaten roo/cockerel they would like to let go, let me know. I have one wheaten hen and she is with my blues at the moment. Her little cockerel mate died not too long after arriving.

They are beautiful birds!! I have an older trio from different source that was laying well but then went into molt and haven't started again. I have a few gro outs from them too. I can't wait until spring!!

Me either. these I picked up are at point of lay so I am pretty excited to be able to work with them. Beautiful color and he gave me some pointers. They came out of his breeder pen so I am tickled. Plus he said when I start hatching that he would help me out with which to keep and breed and his advice. Nice man.
