I have to admit to being pretty impressed by the camaraderie on this group. Heather’s story about why she wanted the Bresse was moving, and Candice claiming them for her was amazing, and the new girl didn’t know the story behind Heather wanting them, so no foul there. (resisting the urge to pun!)

Babymakes6 just pm’ed me and we are going to work something out in the spring on those chicks that she can now not send to me (I claimed a bunch of chicks before figuring out that VA has weird laws because I have no incubator yet,) possibly visiting Madamwlf to make the exchange.

I have eggs under my broody from CRfarm. I have never had children so this will be the first miracle of birth at my house. And I am so nervous/excited I could burst.

I am actually looking forward to maybe meeting some of you in the future!

Last year was rough for us. I was laid off for 9 months(stoooooped economy,) but eventually got my job back (so: thrilled because I love my job!) Things are still a bit tight, but looking good/hopeful for the future. I have learned the joys of chicken keeping. (why had I waited so long!!!!????) and the simple things in life: sitting on the porch with my morning coffee watching them do chickenny things. Life is good.

It is so cool to be feeling this way on New Year’s Eve and at the beginning of a new year.

I'm looking forward to tonight whenever I get a chance to join. I'm an accountant, and it's year end week. I'll be here tomorrow working on fixed assets capitalization. I still have project managers that haven't sent me the info to close their project. Sorry, I know that sounds trivial in comparison to all the other issues, but it is frustrating.

By the way, Candace, you are wonderful. I think it is great what you did for Heather. Congrats everyone that received prizes last night. I popped in but had to quickly leave.

Does anyone have Penedescencas? I've been admiring these for a while and am wondering where to get them and if they are as flighty as it says. I have read the same about Buttercups and Sumatras and both of those that I have a wonderful temperaments.
