Went to go out to the barn this morning to play with the horses and my truck would not start

Fortunately it ended up just being the battery and a friend came over and gave me a jump. Horses loved their cookies and I rode my boy for a little while, but boy I got cold fast! Now i am home and getting ready for all the fun tonight! Still no pips or peeps, but finger crossed!

We have a bantam buttercup we picked up out of a bantam assortment. Personally, I call her stupid chicken. She refuses to lay in any sort of nesting box. I even put a box on the ground. She'll lay next to it in, but not in it. Maybe I should be calling her stubborn chicken. She has laid all winter though. but her eggs are so tiny they're pretty much worthless.

Mine have been my most reliable layers all winter. They all lay in the nest box, and I average about 9 eggs every 4 days from 3 pullets with no extra light.

And there you have it, folks. The battle of the sexes, streamlined to two posts.
I hate to say it, but I agree with WV. I don't understand the big deal. They don't make me put it up; I don't make them put it down. On the other hand, if it is wet when I sit down...the zap will definitely occur and the collar won't be around the neck.

Does anyone have Penedescencas? I've been admiring these for a while and am wondering where to get them and if they are as flighty as it says. I have read the same about Buttercups and Sumatras and both of those that I have a wonderful temperaments.
I've got 2 partridge penendeseca hens, been trying to get eggs so I can hatch out a roo but haven't had any luck yet. They aren't my friendliest birds but they aren't too flighty either. Kind of stand off-ish I guess. But I love the color of their eggs and think they are a very pretty bird.

I'm bummed I'm not going to be able to join in the backwards swap tonight. My 4 pp swaps cleared our checking account and my Mr. grumbled, so I've got to just watch tonight. Oh well, I'm sure there will be another one, sometime. :)
