Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

Sew I dont brood in the house....we have a separate building for it and so glad the babies are out of the house. they hatch and then kept inside in the office in a brooder for 2 days. The GET out is in order. They get big stalls though with heat and water and room to play.

He donated the trailer because he doesn't want chickens or chicks in the house. He built me an awesome smaller brooder box, holds about 10-15 comfortable for about two months. I just need to figure out some sort of cover for the trailer...I'm thinking an 'A' frame or hoop covered in wire and tarp. I think the trailer will be more of a grow-out pen with very little added heat. I've got two 5 week old chicks outside in a 6x8 covered hoop-house pen. The only added heat they have is a seedling heat mat that they only cuddle on when the temps are below freezing, right now its 27 outside.

My good incubator broke today. Day 5 with 6 BCM eggs from Donna. Luckily I have a broody to set them under... Yesterday I checked the eggs, this morning it did seem a little. Poker, but I though maybe I had left it slightly ajar, but after checking the heating element, its broke. No heat coming out. Fan is still workin though. Too ba I don't have $300 to my name- someone on cL is selling a sportsman

Sah what type of heater? we have a couple new heating elements in a box upstairs

I'm so slapping my own hands to keep from claiming more eggs.
I'll do again when my ladies pick up and start laying better.
Just trying to get all my current claims lined up to be shipped in close to the same time so that I can hatch them all together.


Now back to the regular scheduled program.

This is the main piece. We had to go into town, but I am going to try to open it up when we get home. The fan still works- so I could replace with a new assemble, and put the broken one in the still air I use as a hatcher.

That's ok, I appreciate you looking. I think the eggs are a lost cause. It was probably a day off. Luckily Donna sent me 9 and I had put three under my broody so hopefully something will be saved.
