Redbrushfarm-
I live in MO too. Haven't been NPIP tested yet, but I'm getting ready to send in the paperwork this week. There's no charge. They only test poultry over 4 months of age, younger ones will have to wait until next year. They will test your peafowl too. If you have waterfowl they will test them the first year, but generally not after since they don't carry the diseases npip checks for. Just email Rose Foster, she's really nice and will answer any questions pretty quick. [email protected] The main reason I am getting npip is so I will be able to ship, and save time at shows.

Thanks so much for the information. I think I have decided to do it. I'll call this afternoon. I am glad they don't check the tiny ones. It will be hard enough with the older ones. I do not have ducks so no worry there. I do not like to wait at the show either. The last show I attended it took 3 cuts to get enough blood for the test. My silkie was panicked by the time I put her in her cage.
Thanks again.... Billie Sue

Im glad I am NPIP, kinda makes me feel like I care about my birds and others too. The state came out and tested all of my birds for free. Kansas, and the AI test was also free.

Here is the pics of the silky chick that I hatched from emvickery

sure is a sweet chick, I hope to get some more!!!

Really cute!!! Looks a lot like one of mine I got from her. I ended up with a self blue (lavender) and an andalusian blue.

Oh, it's beautiful! I am so tempted...

NONONO! One, I still have a car to fix. Two, I am in the process of mucking out the barn, setting up another chicken pen in it, setting up THREE brooders in anticipation of the NYD madness, and turning eggs I got from my wonderful secret Santa :) which I just candled last night and confirmed development in at least three (three are dark shell, and the other two light shell ones I wasn't sure about). (And THANK YOU, wingstone! Eggs are always welcome, and eggs to test my 'bators right before a major hatch round were perfect!)

So NO, Clucky! No eggs for you!

(butbutbut...)

lol!

Lookie lookie what I been busy hatching out this fall, SILKIES!!! Well, one in the background of the first pic isn't silkie. Let's see, 1 buff, 4 white, 6 partridge/blue partridge, 1 black, and 2 blues. Thank you to everyone here that has sent me Silkie eggs. Hopefully I can get plenty more for the NYD hatch-along!!! I know my buff has a crooked beak, but I didn't get him from anyone here. He was the ONLY egg to hatch from some I ordered from a breeder. Gonna keep him as a pet anyway. He's sweet.
