Just in case anyone has questions
Or to report that you got your eggs / hatched your eggs or anything else you want to talk about

Questions:

2 days from now (on the 1st of December) I believe will be my first day that I am able to participate in the hatching eggs/paypal swap thread (correct me if I'm wrong, please). As I understand it (and I could be misinterpreting), on that day I can claim someone's eggs by saying "Mine, offer 18 PP". Then, whoever claims "Mine" on my offer of 18 PP, I would send the 18 PP to the person who claimed it, and *not* the person whose eggs I won. After that 1st claim I posted, I cannot claim any more eggs or offer any eggs or PP until that entire transaction has been cleared by one of the swap moderators, and they clear me for my next transaction. This will occur until 7 swaps have been verified by a moderator after which time I can claim this and that and the other thing until the cows come home, as long as I don't go over 7 transactions per week. Is this all correct?

In the "Anything else you want to talk about" category:
Has anyone ever purchased eggs from Carl Brantley out of NC? From what very little information I was able to gather, he mainly raises show quality game fowl (the BBR Malay being one of them). If you have purchased eggs from him, would you mind sharing information regarding your hatch rate and the quality of your birds you hatched from him?

Does anyone know if you can "remove" white markings via selective breeding? Meaning, can you take a spangled breed with white markings, and breed it selectively to only breed the offspring with the fewest white markings, and only breed the offspring of those offspring with the fewest white markings, and so on and so forth until there are no 'white spots' left at all? Furthermore, can you do the same thing with any color that you do not desire to have?

We are now 2 months into this thread and we would like to make sure that everyone is meeting their obligations in a timely manner. If you have claimed eggs before Nov. 16th (unless the offer stated there would be a delay) and have not received them or a DC# that they have been sent, please PM me with the details. If you have claimed PP and it has not been sent within 3 days, also let us know. We will try to make sure we keep on top of any trends.

I have finally finished a summary of all the swaps since the beginning of this thread up to Nov. 15. It is sorted according to each swapper and includes the swaps you claimed and the ones you promised. It can be accessed here:

Here are this week's current standings as of 12:30AM EST, Fri. Nov. 30. For all potential new swappers, we welcome your participation, but please read the rules on page 1, post #1 of this thread.

Game #1 - Whenever someone goes over 7 swaps, they lose 2 swaps the following week. The first person to catch it and post "Jinx"- (name of person going over), gets an extra swap in the current week. If crazypetlady (CPL) goes over, everyone gets an extra swap that week, and the first person to catch her and post "Jinx-CPL" gets a special prize of eggs from CPL. Start stalking!

CPL went over this week, so everyone gets 10 swaps this week!


Game #2 - Whoever claims the 50th, 75th, and 100th swap of the day (yes, I think we will get up that high this spring or before) will win an extra wild card swap to be used in the winner's week of choice.


Those in red are done swapping until 12:01 EST on Sun. Dec. 2. Those in yellow are getting close to a limit.

Below is a list of the new swappers that still have to complete their initial 7 swaps, so are limited to one swap at a time until each one is verified. Once you have been cleared by crazypetlady, kraftyladies, babymakes6 or madamwlf for another swap, you may claim another, regardless of what my list says. I don't keep track of whose swaps have been verified, just the swappers that need to have that done. My list is only published once a night, but your swapping status may change a few times during the day. Once all of your 7 initial verified swaps are completed, your name will be moved to the big list. I may not have everyone's name here that is already swapping, but all new swappers will be added here until I hear differently. . I was waiting for you to do the almost inevitable (almost, but most of us do it at the beginning!) and be soooooo excited that you send out your PayPal as soon as it is 'mined' then, like me and a few others, you could sheepishly apologize and we could giggle 'cause we would know the 'secret'... We all do it! Even when we know not to do it

So, when your offer is "mined" you wait until the person who "mined" your PP gets their offering claimed. Sometimes we have to do a 'roll back' for various reasons and it is a hassle to do the refund. So, when you are a new 'addict-in-the-making' (and I hope to help) just do your claim, wait for your 'taker' to be taken, and then grin 'cause you know "I" feel even more, well ahhh, un-bright ....

Seriously, welcome. Have fun. Have a glass of wine, whatever, and relax and enjoy the people.

Yes that is correct. When persons offer has been accepted you can send persons PP to them.

YES, see "you" get it. Most of us newbies kinda skip that little part..... and truly everyone is good at watching your back. Just think of a moderator's reminder as a supportive gesture and pass the egg nog

My girls are toying with me. I got 1 Light sussex egg yesterday

and I had it for breakfast this morning to check on fertility ( was good) now if only one of the others would start up and and I could get to filling orders. My BLRW girls have been giving me one egg every week or so and now I have had 1 egg two days in a row. keep it up girls. now if only the Ameraucanas would get to work.
