Hatching Eggs / Paypal CHAT Thread

I use Word and a color printer, print them on shipping labels cut into strips.

So, what is Pastrymama's secret packing method? I got my first box of eggs packed in fine wood chips (not quite sawdust) but no better luck on those eggs than any other box of eggs.

I got 2 dozen expensive eggs yesterday, shipped on their sides. I'll just say this is the first time I've seen eggs that look scrambled inside the shell. I won't even try to count the multiple bubbles where there should be a single air cell.
i am fairly new to shipping and have been trying different methods, asking for feedback from buyers and their hatch rates, also i receive eggs and like clucky said, when they are packed fat end up and packed in tightly, i have not received an egg with a loose cell. so i have been trying it. if i have only a few eggs to ship, bubble wrap each all the way around and place inside another container, a cherry tomato plastic container from costco works fab! stuff the empty spots with shredded paper, and pack that sucker firmly in the middle of the shipping box with more paper, bubble wrap, etc. the one that went to clucky here, i used DMrippey's idea, styrafoam lined box, lots of big bubble wrap and individual bubble wrapped eggs facing down packed in tight, no chance of them moving. and away we go!

Wow CJ that's horrible, remind me not to get to close to you so that bad luck doesn't rub off. ;)

Could you post pictures the next time you ship some? Or maybe make a page here on BYC on how you do it.

Maybe I'll just look for some eggs to buy for that week. It's no more difficult to brood a few as it is to brood a lot.

Thanks anyway, ladies.

Got my first pullet egg from one of my BCMs today! It is in extra pen with extra roos... bunch of polish roos and a buff orp roo. Wonder what kind of chick that would look like??

Long shot here... I got another incubator and am looking to fill it for the next hatch, if at possible.

I am wondering if there is anyone who has me on their egg list has any available to ship the week of December 10th? BHep and KYTinpusher are on the list for that week already.. thanks to both!

I'm willing to compromise on variety if necessary. Some are already mystery swaps.. Anyway, thanks for considering it.

I offered my B/W Ams for that week but if she doesn't take them I am happy to send you everything that I collect in that time frame. No chicken adults are laying just the pullets that don't "know" any better so fertility will be what it will be.

This week, reorganizing groupings and pairings in all young stock..... but all breeds pure no projects at this time.
I can collect and the let you know what I have if you give me the best day for sending (getting can be a'nutter story)
best wishes, k/

I think I have a pretty good idea how you ended up with 45 chickens. I only wonder how you manage to keep the numbers so low!

Hee! Actually, I'm going to have to update soon

Right now I've got it back down to 35 -- lost a bunch of 6 week olds to the **** barn cats (FINALLY gone and funny, I haven't lost a chick since), gave away four of my extra roos. However, I suspect by the end of NYD hatch I'll be over a hundred. ACK!!!

That would be wonderful. I have a few leads and am working on others so it will be great to have a bunch of chicks ready to go soon. Thank you!!
